Production of Ductile Iron with Feritic Matrix
Blaha, Marek ; Šupálek, Milan (referee) ; Molliková, Eva (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the properties and production of ductile cast iron with ferritic matrix. Theoretical part is focused on basic information about ductile iron, its chemistry, structure and mechanical properties. The production of ductile iron with ferritic matrix in JMA Hodonín Ltd is described in the next chapter of this thesis. In the experimental part the real cast is described together with its production technology and material. The practical part is concentrated on comparison of chemical composition, structure and mechanical properties of material of cast and keel blocks made of the same melt. Finally the results of experiments are summarized and the arrangements for improving conformity between material of cast and of keel block are suggested.

Optimation of inoculation process of ductile iron
Ulm, Daniel ; Pecina, Vladimír (referee) ; Roučka, Jaromír (advisor)
The master‘s thesis deals in theoretical part with the casting classification, ductile iron casting, its inoculation and modification and quality evaluation using thermal analysis, image analysis and testing of mechanical properties. The aim of the practical part was to test the effects of preconditioning on the properties of ductile iron and to find out whether it is able to replace the current method of inoculation or to increase the mechanical properties of ductile iron castings. The state of the ductile iron was under control by spectral and thermal analysis. The mechanical properties and image analysis were checked on finished casting.

Production of thinwall iron castings
Kryštůfek, Tomáš ; Kaňa, Václav (referee) ; Roučka, Jaromír (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on production and problems in production of thin-walled ductile iron castings, especially in the inoculation process. The focus is on the influence of elements on the structure and mechanical properties of ductile iron and as well as the influence of some elements, that are commonly used in inoculation alloys. Furthermore, the factors that affect the production technology are written, i.e., solidification rate, wall thickness, cooling rate, and factors used for affecting the thin-walled castings production, i.e., the use of insulating moulding compounds and increasing the graphite nodule count. At the end of the theoretical part, important production processes are analysed, namely inoculation and spheroidization. The experimental part is focused on influencing the structure and mechanical properties using several types of inoculants of different chemical compositions, whereas the tested thicknesses of the test plates are 3-, 5- and 8-mm. Hardness, tensile strength and ductility are evaluated on these plates. Finally, the volume of ferrite in the structure, shape and size of the graphite nodules were examined.

Study of the effect of metallurgical and technological parameters on mechanical properties of aluminium alloys
Pešek, Jakub ; Krahula, Karel (referee) ; Zemčík, Ladislav (advisor)
Sugested thesis has been made with the intent to observe and describe the length of the modifying effect of three different types of modifiers and their effect on the mechanical properties of aluminium alloy. Next step was to process and evaluate links between mechanical properties and chemical composition. Chemical analysis and mechanical properties of cast samples were obtained. For this purpose and a method of metallographic processing was applied afterwards. The grain size was evaluated before and after the heat treatment. Measurements of the secondary dendrite branches and evaluation of the eutectic morphology were made. The hardness was measured on selected samples.

Influence of modification and inoculation on structure and mechanical properties of aluminium alloys
Janošťák, Jan ; Lána, Ivo (referee) ; Roučka, Jaromír (advisor)
This thesis examines the influence of inoculation and modification on the internal structure and properties of aluminium-silicon alloys. The effect of inoculation by titanium and boron and modification by sodium and strontium is investigated in experimental part of the thesis. All these metallurgical interventions in the melt are tested on three types of hypoeutectic Al-Si alloys (AlSi10Mg(a), AlSi8Cu3, AlSi7Mg0,3). The experiment was carried out in cooperation with the foundry of non-ferrous metals, Aluminium Group, a.s. in Sloup.

Effect of inoculation and cooling rate on the DAS for aluminium foundry alloys
Dočekal, Václav ; Blažík, Petr (referee) ; Kaňa, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals influence of inoculation and rate of cooling on DAS value. The aim of this thesis is primarily the effect of inoculation and formation of dendrites in aluminium alloy. The second part of thesis describe experiment. In this experimental part, is research effect inoculation of combination Ti and B. The influence of the cooling rate on the DAS value, which has been achieved by various casting processes, has also been researched. These effects, was researched on aluminium alloy-AlSi10Mg(a). The DAS has been found to affect the rate of cooling. Inoculation does not affect this value.
